5 Reasons I Won't Let My Kids Wear Clothes with Skulls on Them

Yesterday I threw out a poll question on my Facebook and Twitter pages. The poll question asked, "Should Christians wear attire with skulls on it?" I received some great comments from people with a variety of opinions. You can read the comments on my timeline from 8/8/13.

My opinion is that Christians should not wear clothes with skulls on them.

I don't have one specific Bible verse that I can use to prove my point. Jesus never said, "Thou shalt not wear clothes with skulls." I do however think there are number of conclusions that can be drawn from Scripture that support my opinion.

1. Jesus does care about the clothes we wear.
I don't believe God's people are free to wear whatever they want. From the Old Testament all the way through the New Testament you can find Biblical language related to clothes. Ben Bergeron is a New England Crossfit affiliate owner (CrossFit New England). Bergeron is most well known for coaching both the male and female 2016 CrossFit Games champions. Chasing Excellence is Ben's detailing of his mental strategy and training methods, along with the attitudes and attributes of both Mat Fraser and Katrin Davidsdottir, which lead to their success in the 2016 games. Injury Update: Hernia Surgery Scheduled

I've been dealing with an inguinal hernia since March 10. Not so much fun constantly having to push your intestines back inside where they belong. It happened during the second week of the CrossFit Open. I wanted to finish all five weeks, plus I had the Sabertooth CrossFit Lifto De Mayo competition in May that I wanted to compete in, so I delayed saying anything to anyone. I finally saw a doctor the week before the competition and he confirmed the hernia. The following week I saw the surgeon and planned the surgery for June 5th. I wanted to wait until after Memorial Day so that I could do the Hero WOD "Murph" with the rest of my CrossFit Skopos family. The surgeon said there wasn't a high risk of further injury so he was ok waiting.

I'm thankful that the hernia hasn't completely hampered my ability to workout but I'm looking forward to having it repaired and being able to go 100% again. Even though I can still do most of the movements in my workouts, hav…
